In memory of Peter Trenchard
1947 - 2025
Member of Circle 14 and the later Circle 10
Peter took up photography in 1957. He learned the basics of developing and printing from his own father who had his own darkroom. He always photographed in black and white and was rarely without a camera to hand.
He was a member of Girvan Camera Club and Ayr Photographic Society for many years but left both in the 90s when colour slides and digital became more prevalent. It was an Ayr PS member at the time who introduced him to UPP and he joined Circle 14 in September 1985 until March 1993, taking a sabbatical and then rejoining in July 1995. In February 1997 he switched to CAA but left in March 1999.
He kept in touch with a couple of members of Circle 14 but did not rejoin again until 2013 when he became part of Circle 10 until 2021. He appreciated being back among like minded people in relation to his preference to continue with non digital photography in black and white.
